Minutes from February 16, 2017 Club Meeting

The NWMNP Club meeting was called to order by Doug Dye, president, at 7 PM at the Gateway Community Center. There were approximately 20 people in attendance. Some club business was discussed. The club bylaws have been revised. The original bylaws were created using a “vanilla” version from the Internet. So the board has worked to fix grammatical errors, and to customize the bylaws specifically to our club. If you are a paying member, you will be getting a copy of the new bylaws. Please read and look them over. If you have questions, please contact Mike Cronin at seagate26@gmail.com or 406/309-2988. These changes will be voted on at the next meeting, so we hope you will be able to attend. The “Lightroom for Nature Photographers” will be our technical meeting for March. The workshop will be held on March 11-12 at the Gateway Community Center, Rm. 38. Notes have been sent to the club mailing list which have the registration form. For further information, contact Nancy Chalmers at nancychalmers@yahoo.com or 770/363-0712.  Here is a link to the workshop registration form. 2017 NWMNP Lightroom Workshop Registration Form Robert Hanson reported on the meet-up session held last Saturday did evening in Kalispell. There were 6 people who attended, and the group did night shots in downtown Kalispell. Robert asked about locations for the March meet-up, and the group liked the idea of heading to Freezeout Lake in Choteau at the later part of March. Doug also reported that a great local photographer, Tom Ulrich, had passed away last Friday. Tom was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia around the end of December and was hospitalized in St. Louis. He never left the hospital. All who know Tom will miss him. Speaker: Chuck Haney. The club had a wonderful presentation by Chuck of his recent trip to Iceland with his workshop. Chuck is a well know photographer around the country and lives in Whitefish. He has published 13 books to date, and has many articles and pictures in national magazines. Don't miss our next meeting on March 16 at the Gateway Community Center at 7PM.
